Hello,

Had you ever heard the sexy song I Think About You? I have to admit that it's one of my favorite compositions.

I Think About You is the second demo with temporary vocal tracks from the demoTalkMusicArt project to be presented.

Check out the lyrics and story now on the YouTube channel, as the new video is online! A production of ServicesW+M with the visual from a social advertising campaign dating back to the arrival of Bella Canvas in my Boutique Blog Shop distributors. Enjoy!

I Think About You - Demo Tracks

Words and Music by Jeff Maheux. Arrangement JMaheux and Angelo Labbate. Guitars ALabbate. Productions ©JM2001-24.

The Writer’s Note

Personally, and for a long time, I have only named this piece Thinking. If you see that name in the future, I'm actually talking about the song I Think About You. I've never written a song called Thinking. At least, not yet, otherwise I'm really going to mix everyone up, My!

The Production

Thinking was a pleasure to record with Angelo. I remember coming back from the studio with a lot of enthusiasm as I reread my production diary. It's a song that puts you in a good mood and was composed for the stage.

It's a great track to keep people standing and dancing! This song offers a lot of interpretation possibilities.

The vocal tracks in this sung version are rough tapes; Voices performed during studio work to indicate the puchs of the performance when recording the music, before recording the final vocals and harmonies.

Over time, I started recording rough tape vocal tracks at the very beginning of the arrangement process demonstrating an idea of the melody and the moments to be highlighted in the song through effects or musical flights. I even keep them until mixing, because I don't work on my music continuously, but one or two hours a week. I was able to limit my time in the studio, which was often expensive.

The Steak House Concept

#demoTalkMusicArt will introduce the final piece with recordings of vocals and harmonies. I really like the lyrics and over time I sing it in a more assertive way. I add a story when I introduce it about an encounter in a 1950s style Steak House, like in the movie Back To The Future. The inspiration for the video with lyrics online on YouTube is the image: Jeff's Steak House Restaurant by Artūras Kokovrevas. I don't know the story behind this image, but I thank AKokovrevas for the inspiration. Bless!

Now, you know, what happens at the Steak House, stays at the Steak House!

I Think About you

Words and Mysic by Jeff Maheux

Who said love was a clean thing Without natural

I know the smell of good sex and it doesn’t smell like rose!

My love for you is big and fat Without restrictions

I like it smooth and creamy To lick with my finger

Who said love was a pure thing without temptations

Lock the bathroom door baby, show me your devotion

My love for you is rock & roll Like the Rolling Stones

I like it sweat and nasty And feel it through the bones

When I think about you, yeah! Yeah! Yeahhhh!  And the first time we kissed

Who said love was a safety without adventure

I like your taste for danger and when you make me run

My love for you is an eagle Flying through wind and snow

I like when you are the beast Or when you’re the hunter

When I think about you, yeah! Yeah! Yeahhhh!  And the first time we kissed

 22/11/2001.

The phrase Lock the bathroom door baby, show me your devotion, has already ended up by: show me your underwear... I've changed it since then, a there’s a long time ago, but I still have to be careful when I sing Thinking, otherwise I'll absentmindedly talks about underwears out of knowhere!

The Music

The intro has been used several times as music for announcements and advertisements of all kinds since 2018, the year of the launch of jeffmaheux.com.

When the website was unveiled, I presented this demo, along with the Desert demo, which attracted out of a sudden a lot of requests and communications to be made. I admit it made me panic a little bit and I clearly wasn't well prepared. I then took an artist-entrepreneur course which allowed me to learn about the administrative side of the profession of self-employed songwriter and especially to spot scams of all kinds.

#demoTalkMusicArt (DTMA) is the name of the first EP available on the virtual market available soon.

4 songs released in demo, or instrumental version for promotional and publicity purposes, which have never been released with official lyrics and vocals.

The premiere of the Desert video on the YouTube Channel launched DTMA on January 2, 2024.

The images used to visually present the demo is from the days I had an online clothing store, to introduce the Bella Canvas t-shirts. Rather than using generic images, I used enlargements of images like this to advertise the new items. Sometimes I made the images myself since only the portion of the hand under the label was used. Of course, I took all kinds of poses and these photo sessions were always very late at night, because I also had to program the items online before the images were taken. I can tell you there is a lot to do in preparation for the new season. I didn't have a lot of time to work on my music at the time. My first years of entrepreneurship we’re crasy as at the same time I was back to school. Yes, the days only have 24 hours Jeff...

Conclusion

I'm happy if you like the song I Think About You. Let's remember this is a humorous song with lots of funny and exaggerated sexual connotations. The goal is not to be inappropriate or shocking, but to laugh at these innocuous situations as a couple.

In fact, when I wrote the music, I imagined the song to be glam rock (think of the bands Poison with Your Mama Don't Dance, or Mötley Crüe with Wild Side). Only with the lyrics, I thought it was really too Sexy, which I'm not really. I was even ready to give the song away, not liking to sing it but not wanting to change it. It was when I worked the song in studio the jazzy style appeared, and by removing the effects in the guitars, everything fell into place and so the humorous side developed.

The current musical style and arrangements on the demo are perfect. I don't want to change them. For the final version of DTMA, it is the vocals and harmonies that will be worked on, and final arrangements to give more punch in the final section and avoid redundancy after the solo.

I'll keep you posted. Thank you for reading, and for listening!

Jeff
